This past May, we celebrated the 150th Kentucky Derby by creating designs for the Third Annual Runway for The Roses Celebration. We partnered with BostonMan Magazine and the Woodford Reserve to bring together a spectacular event.
This event featured one-of-a-kind sequin outfits inspired by the Kentucky Derby showcasing a variety of dazzling dresses, shirts, blazers, and accessories. All the outfits were topped off with large hats and shimmering accessories. We also had some looks inspired by the Derby theme and Star Wars fans' favorite day, May the Fourth be with you, as the event was held on May 4th, 2024.
One of our favorite designs by Mel the Clothing was a stunning blue sequin dress emblazoned with the playful phrase "Talk Derby to Me" which brought the theme to life. The dress was accessorized with a perfectly matching blue. Another fan favorite was a black sequin jumpsuit with the phrase "Maye the Horse be with you" showcasing our true creativity. The jumpsuit was accessorized with a large black hat, a miniature stuffed horse, and of course, a lightsaber.
Aside from our stunning models and designs, our best-dressed guest won an overnight stay at the Omni Boston Hotel, adding extra excitement to our event.
A portion of the event proceeds was donated to the Greg Hill Foundation, which assists local families affected by tragedies. We love using our sparkles to make a difference!
